Veronica, Dave and Hudson the adorable| New York Lifestyle

I don’t do portraits very often.  The reason is that when I do shoot them, I want them to mean something. I want them to tell a story. I want them to chronicle where you are in your life. I want them to be real. I want you to wear what you would normally wear, shoot where you would normally be, doing what you would normally do. Those mean the most to me. My favorite pictures of my family growing up were not the ones where all of us were looking at the camera smiling. They were my mom and dad laughing one of us kids making some kind of face or us just sitting around enjoying each other. That’s how I remember it in my head so when I look at the pictures, they feel like home.

Veronica and I have the same view on this, so when she wanted some intimate shots of she and her family in their Brooklyn home, I was completely on board.  Ooohh those brownstones make my heart happy. I’m a natural light photographer so I usually shy away from shooting indoors but I absolutely love the images we took in their home. We also lucked out and caught a yummy sunset in a park in their neighborhood you know I love so much. I love to travel for work but it always makes me a little sad to leave places and people I adore so much.
