It’s a chilly winter day here today and so I can’t think of a better wedding to post to kick of “love” month.
A few years ago we made a “bucket list wedding locations” spot on our website, talking about how much we love to travel and where we were dreaming of the business taking us. Best decision ever. Since then we’ve scratched off almost that entire list and have had to add to it! We were thrilled when KJ and Sasha reached out to us to shoot their small wedding at Lake Placid Lodge in New York. We could not have had a more perfect backdrop for their wedding. A HUGE snow storm had just rolled through and everything was still covered in a gorgeous white blanket. So picturesque.
I know I’ve said it before, but I have a very special place in my heart for small weddings. There is just a very different rhythm to the day. A quiet calm that floats around the day, like a warm hug. Selfishly, it also usually means we get the couple for a longer period of time for portraits, which is music to our ears. I don’t think there is anything more important than dedicated time alone for our couples on wedding day. I think if you ask any of our clients, no matter what the elements are doing, they don’t regret that time a part from the chaos. Cheers to KJ and Sasha for braving the chilly elements and being enthusiastic to hike through the snow and capture something really fabulous. It was such a wonderful day.
Grab some coffee and a warm blanket and enjoy these lovely snowy nuptials on this chilly February day!
