There’s been a lot going on over here the past year. Big changes personally, smaller changes professionally. The short version is that a lot has changed and nothing has changed. As most of you know- especially our couples- Barrett has always been by my side in this business. As my support, my second shooter and the business sanity behind CMP. It’s time (long overdo) that he has his name on the door, so to speak. We’ve really been a husband and wife team from the beginning, it’s time to make it official.

What will change? Really, nothing. We will continue to tackle weddings and travel together and I (Claire) will still be doing majority of portraits solo. Now our name will reflect what we’ve always been.

The bigger news is that we added a member to the family. This March we welcomed our son, Rowan Blaine into the world. He’s hilarious, dramatic, beautiful, expressive and has an above average sized head. He’s perfect. What a wild journey it has been! I have a tendency to do things the hardest way possible, so of course we had him right at the start of wedding season. To say it’s been a hectic six-ish months (who am I kidding-more like year) would be to gross understatement. I wish I could say I took to being a working mom with Pinterest like grace, read all the books, adhered to all the advised schedules… but the truth is, it has kicked my butt. Rowan isn’t my first baby, you see. This wonderful and beautiful job we get to do is a baby of mine as well. We’ve nurtured and grown this business and your trust from ground up and that doesn’t just go away. No matter how blue of eyes the new baby has. (Seriously, his eyes are so blue.) We’ve made a commitment to you to keep up our standard of work, and to keep our new human alive, which means there have been a few things that have taken a hit. Showing off our gorgeous couples via blog and social media for one, our new brand and website for two. Well, that’s about to change.

How does this affect you? If you’re one of our past couples, not much.  If you’re one of our future couples, you may not have seen us very much lately on the interwebs but we’re about to step up our game. We’re about to hit you with all kinds of beauty to make up for our quiet presence. Our new website, in its entirety, will be rolled out in the next week or so, but for now we’ve got the blog and contact up and running so nothing is missed. Our Instagram and Facebook profiles will also be changed to reflect our new name. (Because what is really official that isn’t Facebook official?)
