The United Kingdom isn’t just someplace I’ve always wanted to visit. It’s a place I knew would be a part of my soul as soon as I stepped off the plane. I wasn’t wrong.

I adore Scotland and I adore Scottish people. Everything seems a little more slow there, a little more personal. People look you in the eye when they speak and ask you about your life with sincerity. They also serve delicious beer and fabulous meat pies which is nothing to stick your nose up at. The Highlands, where I got the opportunity to shoot Ben and Polly, was something from another world. I think we experienced just about every kind of weather in the couple hours we were shooting. Anything from sunshine to rain to hail, the Highlands are temperamental and indescribably beautiful. They were so much fun and absolutely up for anything regardless of the crazy weather. There were moments where the wind was blowing all over the place and they seemed frozen in time, completely oblivious to all of it besides each other.

I feel so alive when I’m on the road in a new place, everything seems a little more bright and a little more clear. I hope I get another opportunity to shoot in these beautiful mountains again very soon. XO
